Class Objective:  Master class format provides students an opportunity to polish pieces in progress and acquire performance experience.   Excellent for recital, performance or audition preparation.   Focus is on presentation, interpretation and performance practice.  May touch on other issues as necessary – mechanics of breathing, voice production, stress management (“stage fright”), etc.  Constructive peer coaching is encouraged.

Format:  A performance workshop for singers. Class length is dependant on enrollment (three singers per hour). Students should come prepared to perform their vocal repertoires – sung or spoken. Ms. Phillips will provide coaching on presentation, interpretation, and diction. Classes may include some discussion and demonstration of fundamental vocal technique, for example, breath management and control, and basic vocal production. Students should bring two extra copies of each piece and have translations of foreign languages.

Tech Requirements: Classroom or auditorium with tuned piano and competent accompanist.
